Changed operations philosophy for a more energy efficient mode for the pipeline gas compressors at Ekofisk 2/4 J. Whenever conditions allow it, one compressor is operated instead of two.

Previously, two compressors were run to ensure high regularity. It is the Statpipe (Gassco) pipeline pressure that dictates whether it is possible to run only one compressor. The pressure in the pipeline needs to be less than 117 bars for one compressor to be sufficient.

Results based on operational experience:
The yearly emission reduction has been estimated to 32 000 ton CO₂, based on the operational experience in 2015 og 2016. Running only one compressor leads to emission reductions of approximately 89 tons CO₂ per day,
