This website is the result of an industry project about energy management and efficiency for the oil and gas sector in Norway. The project was initiated by the Norwegian Oil and Gas association (Norsk olje og gass), and DNV GL led the work carried-out during 2015-2016.
The objective of this website is to combine the knowledge and experience from various sources into a consistent guidance for best practice. This guidance material is specific for the Norwegian petroleum sector, and should contribute by reinforcing the industry efforts within energy management and efficiency.
Content
The content of this website was developed based on the work carried-out in the project. The website documents the established best practice and is based on input, discussions and group work from seminars and workshops, existing guidance material (guidance on energy management from OLF, ISO 50001 and other guidance), course material and other relevant documents from DNV GL.
The website is organised into the 4 common steps found in a typical management system: plan, do, check and act. Each step is further organised in sub-topics following a common structure.
In addition, the project had a special focus on Energy Improvement Opportunities (EIOs) that can be implemented for installations in production, and many operational and modification opportunities are documented into an opportunity list.
Participants
An industry project requires support from the industry. This project includes all of the oil and gas operators with fields in production on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. We would like to thank the companies and participants for good discussions and value-adding participation.
