Opportunity 59: Upgrade of flare system | |
---|---|
A new pilot flare system was installed on Eldfisk 2/7 B in 2010 to replace the old flare system due to corrosion. This measure included changing the flare tip and installing a new 2" pilot line to the flare at Eldfisk 2/7 B. The purpose of the measure was to increase operational uptime and reduce emissions to air by reducing the amount of fuel gas consumed to keep the flare lit. The new pilot line was installed with a restriction orifice plate which limits the amount of gas going to flare to keep this lit. In addition, wind screens were installed to prevent the pilot flame from extinguishing. Results based on operational experience: |
