Opportunity 49: Oxygen control - minimise oxygen to crude oil storage tanks to increase uptime of the VOC recovery system

Unsatisfactory uptime of VOC compressor that has strict oxygen limits. Desired benefit of measure is to increase the uptime, thereby reducing cold venting of natural gas.

The measure comprises modification of N2 for instruments, from self-generated N2 through a membrane separator to using purchased N2 in tanks. A software upgrade is also considered.

Anticipated results and benefits are not as of yet quantified.

Aker BP is considering this improvement opportunity

System group: Process support and utility systems (40-69)
Type: Modification Investment: Not quantified
Profitability: Not quantified Implementation: Not assessed
