Opportunity 40: Transition from 2 to 1 turbine on Ringhorne

Several measures have been implemented to reduce the power requirement on board, and thus be able to go from 2 to 1 turbine.

Measure implemented: Installation of a "Solar forward purge air system", change of pigtails, tuning of fuel gas valves and reduction of vibrations in fuel manifold.

Estimated annual results:

  • 1.5 MW power savings
  • 8 800 tonnes CO2 and 24 tonnes NOx

ExxonMobil has implemented the improvement opportunity on Ringhorne
