Opportunity 37: Bleeding of gas during maintenance

Engie wanted to reduce emissions of hydrocarbon gas to air and avoid exposure to personnel. Solution to achieve this: installing a high pressure connection for using HT hose to e.g. the HP flare system. The gas goes to the HP flare thereafter to the 1st train re-compressor and then back to the process.

Estimated yearly results:

  • Avoiding emissions of HC gas (approx. 566 ton CO2 equivalents)
  • Added sale of gas: ca. 20 kNOK

Engie has implemented this improvement opportunity

System group: Main process (20-29)
Type: Modification Investment: < 0,1 MNOK
Profitability: Profitable Implementation: Implemented
