Opportunity 27: Power generation

Improved control and instrumentation of power generation can reduce the energy consumption. The power generation system is tightly integrated with the production, and changes in operating and instrumentation can provide reduced energy consumption:

  • Install alarm on high available surplus power in SAS
  • Optimise the Power Management System (PMS) on generators by increasing the efficiency window for a new generator to start
  • Optimise the management system for the turbines (PMS) to increase robustness and regularity, and thus minimise emissions
