Opportunity 20: Maintenance optimisation

Washing equipment at the right moment gives better equipment performance and reduced downtime. This can be done through:

  • Washing coolers in the gas train for reducing pressure losses
  • Condition-based water wash
  • On-line water wash
  • Optimising washing and maintenance in the sea water system to avoid marine growth
  • Optimising the water wash interval and procedures based on condition monitoring - installing a new water wash system

Company that assessed/implemented this improvement opportunity: Aker BP, Statoil

System group: System general
Type: Operations optimisation Investment: Not quantified
Profitability: Variable Implementation: Implemented
